Todd Varble

Todd Varble Indiana State Fiddle Contest Judge Growing up in a bluegrass family, Todd spent many hours at his father’s music store. He played bass in his first bluegrass band at age 12 and was touring east of the Mississippi by age 15. He has shared the stage with many greats including Bill Monroe, The Osborne Brothers, Mac Wiseman, and Ralph Stanley. After many years of bluegrass bands and festivals, Todd has found an appreciation for fiddle music and especially the guitar work behind it.

While Todd stills feel there is nothing like a Stanley Brothers gospel song, Todd is currently playing all across the country with his fiddle-playing wife and occasionally taking along their two dogs (named after Bluegrass musicians of course).

Most recently, Todd has finished in the top five at the Grand Master fiddle Championship in Nashville TN and in the top three at the Southwest Regional Fiddle Championship in Groesbeck TX for his accompaniment work.
