Dear Friends of the Official Indiana State Picking & Fiddling Championships,

It’s time to mark your calendars for the 2008 Official Indiana State Picking & Fiddling Championships coming to the Pike County Fairgrounds in Petersburg, Indiana on August 29 and 30, 2008.

The 122nd Labor Day Association is proud to continue the rich tradition of wonderful old time and bluegrass musical entertainment this competition brings.

The Official Indiana State Picking & Fiddling Championships has become a part of the Labor Day Celebration which runs from August 29 – September 1, 2008. Now there will be even more exciting things for you and your entire family to do during your visit to Pike County! Before, during and after the Picking & Fiddling contest, other scheduled events will include a car show, demolition derby, motocross, talent show, a queen contest, carnival rides, and one of the area’s largest parades. I encourage you to make your reservations early as motel and camping spaces are limited. There are other events going on this weekend in Pike County and all lodging / camping facilities will be full. Again I ask you to look over the listing for overnight lodging and act now.
